Armagh Observatory reports that the weather in July was much wetter and slightly sunnier than average.
July Much Wetter Than Average
Rainfall amounted to 131.0 mm (5.16 inches), that is, just over twice the monthly average. Thus making last month the wettest July since 1958 (138.2 mm). However, this falls short of the highest July rainfall recorded at Armagh when 180.3 mm fell in 1896.
The number of hours of sunshine was 149.8, that is, about one-sixth more than the average.
The mean monthly temperature was 14.8 degrees Celsius (58.7 degrees Fahrenheit), which is about average for July. The maximum temperature recorded was 21.1 degrees on 16th.
These data refer to observations at Armagh Observatory, which has been recording the weather at Armagh since 1795.
