Professor Joanna Haigh The McCrea & Academy Times Lectures It is well known that a continuing interest by students in studying science (particularly physics and mathematics) is vital to Ireland’s continued technological development. It is for this reason that the McCrea Lectures include a public presentation specifically aimed at 2nd level students and the general public. This year's speaker is Joanna Haigh, Professor of atmospheric Physics, Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Imperial College London. The lectures will take place on Wednesday 21 November at 5 pm in Academy House and Thursday 22 November at 6 pm in NUI, Galway. Dublin Lecture: "Solar variability and climate: conjecture, politics and science" Wednesday 21 November, 5 pm Venue: Academy House, 19 Dawson Street, Dublin 2.
