Subject: Lecture & Comet
Hi all,
Just back from my lecture in Cork!
Our next IAA lecture will be Wed night, 5th Feb, when Prof Tom Ray, of Dublin
Institute of Advanced studies will talk on "The First Stars - Emerging From
The Dark Ages". It's at 7.30 p.m., lecture room 5, main building, Stranmillis
College, Belfast.
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
I grabbed a quick look at Comet NEAT in my 10x50 binocs in a dark spot on my
way home from Cork: About magnitude 4 t0 4.5, with a nice tail at least 1
degree long. So it's still brightening, & well worth observing now, before
the Moon gets too bright.
