Subject: TV Tonight + IAA Lecture

Hi all,

You might be interested in "The Day The Earth Was Born", Channel 4, 9.0 to
10.00 tonight (Mon).

The next IAA meeting will be on Wednesday 16th, 7.30 p.m., Lecture Room 5,
Stranmillis College, Belfast, when Dr Robert Walsh (ex-Lisburn, but now at
Univ of Central Lancs) will give a talk entitled "A Close Encounter With Our
Nearest Star".

As a leading solar expert, Dr Walsh's talk should reveal the latest
fascinating details of our Sun's secrets, and why it's still so active after
the so-called solar maximum was supposed to be over! And he's an excellent
speaker too....

Admission is free, and all are welcome.

P.s. We had a marvellous evening at Carnfunnock Country Park on Saturday,
with a glorious clear dark sky, and two passages of the ISS and a magnitude
-4 Iridium flare! Not to mention Julie & her amazing inflatable Stardome
Planetarium Show! All went away happy!

Terry Moseley
