Astronomical Science
Group of Ireland

The Astronomical Science Group of Ireland was founded in 1974  to foster scientific collaboration between astronomers working in the the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It is one of the oldest cross-border bodies in the island of Ireland. The group consists of a number of affiliated universities and other organisations and is steered by a small executive.

ASGI meetings are held twice yearly in the spring and autumn at which researchers present their latest work via talks or posters. Postgraduate training courses are also offered from time to time.

In these pages you will find details of past and future meetings, links to research groups and a description of postgraduate opportunities. Please email neal.a.trappe@nuim.ie with requests for updates and additions. (Dr Simon Jeffery from Armagh Observatory is the current chairperson and Dr. Neil Trappe from NUI Maynooth is the current secretary)
